1. Agreement
These Terms govern your use of auditly (the “Service”), a website compliance scanning product. By creating an account or using the Service in any way, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
2. The Service
The Service runs automated scans on websites you submit. It produces reports across accessibility, cookies, third-party trackers, and privacy-policy auditing. We provide a verification badge that indicates a domain is monitored — not that it is legally compliant.
3. No legal advice
The Service does not provide legal advice. Reports are produced by automated tools and large language models. They are best used as a structured punch list for your engineering, product, design, and legal teams. They are not a substitute for a human accessibility audit, a Data Protection Impact Assessment, or counsel from a qualified attorney. Decisions about regulatory compliance must be made with the help of appropriate legal advisors.
4. Your responsibilities
- Only scan domains you own or have explicit, written authorization to scan. Scanning third-party domains without authorization may violate computer-fraud laws.
- Verify ownership of each domain you add via the meta-tag mechanism we provide.
- Keep your account credentials and API key confidential. You are responsible for any activity under your account.
- Use the Service in good faith and in compliance with applicable law.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to (a) scan domains you don't control, (b) overwhelm target sites with traffic, (c) reverse-engineer the Service, (d) resell access without a written agreement, or (e) use scan results to develop a competing product without a license. We may rate-limit or suspend accounts that violate these rules.
6. Credits and billing
Plans are credit-based. Credits expire at the end of the billing cycle they are issued for. Failed scans automatically refund their credit cost. Refunds for paid plans are at our discretion and considered case-by-case in good faith.
7. The verification badge
The badge wording is “Verified by auditly.” It indicates a domain has passed ownership verification and is currently scanned. It does not represent compliance with any specific law or standard. You may not modify the badge artwork or add language that suggests certification.
8. Warranty disclaimer
The Service is provided “as is.” We make no warranty that scans are complete, accurate, or fit for any particular purpose. Automated scanners catch a meaningful portion of issues, not all of them. You should treat findings as signal, not gospel.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice with reasonable notice. Continued use after the effective date of changes is acceptance.
